Amos Yee says he filed a police report against a British TikToker based in Singapore. In his video, he names the person he reported as Daisy Anne, who posts as @daizamazze on TikTok.
The report followed a TikTok video posted on 21 April, in which she reacted to Yee being spotted at Novena Church and whirled her fist while saying people like him should not be left alone, according to Stomp. In his own video, Yee cited concerns for his safety and her large following, and described the gesture as a direct threat of violence. Stomp reported that police confirmed a report had been lodged. The TikToker has not been charged, and police have not said whether they are investigating the gesture as an offence.
Under the Protection from Harassment Act, threatening words or behaviour directed at a person can be an offence, and the Act also covers conduct that causes alarm or distress. Lodging a police report does not by itself establish that an offence was committed or that anyone will be charged.
