Three people were taken to hospital after an accident on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on the morning of Aug 19.

The police, who were alerted at about 9am, said two cars, a motorcycle, a lorry and a bus were involved. The crash happened before the Mandai Road exit.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said a 57-year-old male bus driver, a 58-year-old male car driver and a 54-year-old male motorcyclist were taken conscious to Woodlands Hospital.

The bus was an off-service SBS Transit vehicle on service 170 and had no passengers on board, said SBS Transit spokeswoman Grace Wu in response to queries from The Straits Times. She apologised to affected motorists.

The bus driver is assisting with police investigations.
