Mass Food Poisoning at ByteDance Singapore Office Sickens Over 60 People

At least 60 people fell ill with gastroenteritis symptoms at ByteDance's office in One Raffles Quay on 30 July 2024.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force deployed 17 ambulances after receiving calls for medical help. Authorities initially said 57 affected people sought treatment in hospitals.

A later investigation by the Singapore Food Agency and Ministry of Health linked 130 cases to the incident and found that catered food was the cause. The authorities said they would take enforcement action against the responsible parties.

ByteDance said it worked with emergency services and the relevant authorities to support affected employees and investigate the incident.
