Estate cleaner jailed and caned for molesting 14-year-old in Chua Chu Kang

An estate cleaner was sentenced to 10 months' jail and two strokes of the cane for molesting a 14-year-old girl at a void deck in Chua Chu Kang.

Mir Abdul Khalek, 41, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to outrage modesty. The teenager cannot be named because of a court order.

The court heard that the girl spoke to Mir while waiting to meet friends near Limbang Shopping Centre in September 2023. He molested her during the conversation, and she left before telling her parents. They made a police report and Mir was arrested later that day.

His sentence was backdated to 21 February 2024, when he was first remanded.
