Footage records the final minutes before a flash flood swept into a town in Nepal on 26 August 2026. The clip shows the scene shortly before floodwater and debris reached the area.
Rising Nepal reported that communities along the Bhotekoshi River and downstream areas in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading had only minutes to move to higher ground. The flood damaged settlements, roads and bridges.
Investigators were still assessing the precise trigger. Reporting cited by Mothership pointed to an ice-rock avalanche after part of a glacier broke away, sending water, mud and boulders through the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems.
