George Russell crashed out while leading the rain-hit Singapore Grand Prix Sprint on 10 October. He had passed Max Verstappen at the start before losing control in the wet opening sector on lap one and hitting the barriers.
Verstappen retook the lead and won ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Formula 1 said Russell's retirement brought out the Safety Car.
