Crowds and delays hit Johor's land checkpoints on 28 May 2026 after Malaysia's immigration system went down during the morning rush.
The Star reported that computer-based immigration systems were unavailable for about five hours, forcing officers to process travellers manually. Malaysia's Immigration Department director-general Zakaria Shaaban attributed the outage to technical problems at the MyIMMs data centre and said the system had been restored.
