Man confronts NEA officers over smoking in the rain

A man argued with National Environment Agency enforcement officers after they confronted him over alleged smoking at an HDB void deck while it was raining.

Footage shows the man saying he had been smoking at a corner of the void deck and asking whether he was expected to stand outside with an umbrella. He repeatedly accused the officers of talking nonsense.

NEA rules prohibit smoking in HDB common areas, including void decks and common corridors. Reports by AsiaOne and Stomp did not say whether any enforcement action was taken against the man.
