Dubai International Airport briefly suspended operations on 7 March 2026 after an aerial incident near the airport. The video shows a blast and a large plume of smoke from the runway area.
Al Jazeera described the footage as a drone striking the airport runway. Dubai authorities said a minor incident resulted from debris falling after an interception and rejected some reports circulating about an incident at the airport. No injuries were reported.
Dubai Airports partially resumed operations later that day at DXB and Dubai World Central. Travellers were advised not to go to either airport unless their airline had confirmed the flight.
