Flames and thick smoke rose from an elevated section of Bangkok's MRT tracks near Tao Poon station on September 20. Sparks fell towards the road below as firefighters responded.
The Thaiger reported that passengers were evacuated and no injuries were reported. Operator Bangkok Expressway and Metro suspended services between Bang O and Kamphaeng Phet stations during the disruption.
Officials inspected the electrical equipment and tracks after the fire. The cause remained under investigation, according to the report.
