A clip filmed by a resident shows a car being pursued through the streets of Canberra in Sembawang while onlookers watch from the roadside.
Police said a 46-year-old man did not stop when an officer signalled to him for a check at a roadblock along Canberra Walk towards Canberra Link at about 11.10pm on 1 March 2026. Traffic police officers gave chase, and the car skidded along Canberra Crescent towards Canberra View before the man got out and ran. He was caught after a struggle with officers.
A traffic police officer and the man both suffered minor injuries, and the man refused to be taken to hospital. Police arrested him for reckless driving, driving while disqualified, suspected drink driving, cheating and suspected drug-related offences. Investigations are ongoing.
