A Pokémon card vendor confronted a man at SG HobbyCon after accusing him of slipping a Shining Celebi card into his pocket. The card was priced at S$960.
The convention was held at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on 7 and 8 March 2026. AsiaOne reported that the man returned the card and said he had taken it accidentally. SG HobbyCon later confirmed to the publication that a police report was lodged.
The account remains an allegation. The available reports do not state that the man was arrested or charged.
