A 41-year-old man fell from a ninth-floor ledge at Block 624 Yishun Ring Road on the morning of 27 August 2024. Video of the incident shows him losing his footing while trying to move around a pillar between two ledges.
Singapore Civil Defence Force officers had been inflating a safety life air pack below. The man landed on the pack and was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Police and SCDF told local media that they received the call for assistance at about 10.30am. Police later apprehended the man under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act.
