Footage dated 25 September shows a retired first-generation MRT train being transported by road towards a Tuas scrapyard. The clip identifies it as the last train from the original fleet to make the trip.
Singapore's Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151 trains entered service in November 1987, when the country's MRT network opened. They served the North-South and East-West lines for almost 38 years.
The final C151 trains left passenger service in September 2025 as newer Alstom R151 trains replaced them. LTA has also worked with organisations to preserve cabins, seats and other parts from decommissioned trains.
